Welding & Joining Technology Department: Program Description
The Eastern Wyoming College Welding and Joining Technology Department allows students to learn of welding in a lab where each of the 33 booths are equipped with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and OAW welding capabilities.
The welding instructors at EWC have more than 100 years of welding experience and continually expand and sharpen their skills by attending classes all across the United States. This makes them not only expert welders but excellent instructors as well. The programs available to students are a Certificate in Welding and Joining Technology and an Associates of Applied Science in Welding and Joining Technology, assuring the student is prepared for heavy structural, pipe welding or the maintenance welding field.
Students completing the program at EWC will be American Welding Society certified. EWC is an AWS accredited test center and EWC instructors are AWS certified. Students also have the opportunity to participate in regional and national competitions by joining the SkillsUSA club. Past EWC welders have competed and won several medals.
