New Employees Introduced to Eastern Wyoming College

There are some new faces on the Eastern Wyoming College campus this fall. "We are pleased and excited to welcome these new faculty members to our EWC family. We value both their education and experience that they are bringing with them and look forward to their contributions in helping our students achieve academic success," shared Dr. Dee Ludwig, Vice President for Learning.
The new Education Instructor is Joe Wilson. Wilson holds a B.S., 2004 from Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, in Communication, Cum Laude, M.A. Education 2007, Utah State University, Logan, Utah. He has taught science at the high school and junior high school levels for the past seven years. He has also coached basketball and track, and has been very active in professional education services and organizations.
Austin Hawks is the new Agriculture Instructor. Austin holds a B.S., 2006, from Brigham Young University, Rexburg, ID in Agriculture Business, B.S. 2010, from Utah State University, Logan, Utah in Agriculture Education, Magna Cum Laude, and a M.S. Soil Science, 2010, Utah State University, Logan, Utah. He has been a Research and Teaching Assistant at Utah State University and has been and agriculture student teacher at Weber High School, Ogden, Utah where he also coached the FFA Forestry Career Development Teams. He was previously employed as a facilities manager for Symons Frozen Foods in Centralia, WA. Austin comes from a farm family and restores tractors as a hobby.
The new Health Technology Instructor is Gwendolyn Yung. Yung holds a BS degree in Nursing from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing, Omaha, NE. Gwen is a Registered Nurse and has been involved with therapeutic foster care and teaching in the nursing assistant and medication aide programs for both WNCC and Southeast Community college in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Vickie Winney is the new Health Technology Instructor at the Douglas Campus. Vickie holds an Associate Degree in nursing, 1984, from Odessa College, Odessa, Texas. She is a Registered Nurse and has also completed continuing education hours in multiple nursing processes. Vickie has considerable nursing experience over the past twenty years. She has been working as an adjunct instructor for EWC and part-time for a Douglas physician.
The new Weatherization Technology program instructor is Tim Nyquist. Tim has thirty years of carpentry experience. He also has teaching experience as the Craft Instructor for the Wyoming Construction Education Institute, Agriculture Structures Instructor for the University of Wyoming, and Construction Technology Instructor for Laramie County Community College. Tim is an Energy Star Builder and has served on the City of Laramie Building Code Board of Appeals and the Zoning Advisory Committee.
Kerry Steward is the Business/Computer Applications Instructor at the Douglas Campus. Kerry holds a B.S. 1986, University of Wyoming in Finance and has a Wyoming State Teacher’s Certificate in secondary business education. She taught business for four years at the North Park School district, in Waldon, Colorado. Kerry and her family have lived in Douglas for the past six years.
The new Cosmetology Instructor is Aubrey Braden. Aubrey has both Cosmetology and Cosmetology Instructor licenses from the state of Wyoming. She holds a B.S. 2007, University of Phoenix in Business Management and a MBA, 2009, University of Phoenix, specializing in marketing. Aubrey has been employed as an enrollment counselor for the University of Phoenix and working part-time as a hair consultant and stylist. Aubrey comes to EWC from Cheyenne, Wyoming.
