Three Lancer Rodeo Team Members Qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo

The Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) Rodeo Team finished the 2008-09 rodeo season with a regional champion and three College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) qualifiers.
Jared Bilby, of Bridgeport, Neb., won the regional champion team roping heeler position Bilby will be teamed up with the University of Wyoming's (UW) Tyler Viles at the CNFR this June.
"Jared finished off a great season," Jake Clark, EWC rodeo coach, said. "His roping skills are amazing and his consistency was second to none this year." Bull rider Lane Lindsay, of Hot Springs, S.D. will be making his second trip to the CNFR for the Lancers. Lindsay finished as the Reserve Champion bull rider for the Central Rocky Mountain Region.
"Lane has been a very consistent bull rider for the Lancers and I'm looking forward to seeing him compete at his second trip to the finals," Coach Clark said. EWC Steer Wrestler Logan McDonald went into the last regional rodeo in seventh place. He placed in both rounds and second in the average at the UW Rodeo to move to third in the regional standings.
"Logan will be making his first trip to the CNFR for the Lancers," Coach Clark said. "I'm very impressed with Logan's determination and it paid off for him." The Lancers had several students finish high in the standings both on the men's and women's teams, but fell short of a national qualification.
"We are very proud of our student athletes in the arena, the classroom and the community," Coach Clark said. "This has been a hard working and outstanding group of individuals."
"I am very excited with how some of our underclassmen finished off the season," He continued. "This success should lead into next fall and put us in the hunt for more titles."
The College National Finals Rodeo will be June 14-20 at the Events Center in Casper, Wyo.
