EWC Women's Rodeo Team off to a great Spring Season

The Eastern Wyoming College women’s team got off to a great start at their first spring rodeo held in Torrington. The women’s team ended up second just behind the University of Wyoming.
Helping the Lancers to their second place finish was freshman Andie Cross. Cross finished fifth in the long round and seventh in the Barrel Racing over all. In the Breakaway Roping, Cross was ninth in the long go and finished second in the average. Cross also finished third in the all-around standings.
Also helping the Lady Lancers to their second place finish was freshman Megan Rankin who was first in the long-go and finished third in the average in the Breakaway Roping. Sophomore Spring Moore placed third in the long-go and had a fourth place finish over all. Also placing in the breakaway was Sophomore Chyann Howard who had a seventh place in the long-go.
In the Barrel Racing, freshman Emmy Kolka placed ninth in the long-go and eighth in the average.
In the Team Roping Shannon Vaughan and her partner Hansen Vaughen of CSU finished eighth in the long-go and fourth place over all. The Men’s team ended the weekend in 6th place. Ty Kenner, sophomore, placed first in the long-go and ended up fourth overall in the Bareback Riding.
In the Tie Down Roping, freshmen Quincy Opela placed second in the long-go and seventh overall. Freshman Billy McCall placed sixth in the long-go and eighth in the average. Brett Phipps also placed in the Tie Down Roping with a eighth place finish in the long-go and seventh in the average.
In the Team Roping, sophomore, Chris Cover and freshman, Quincy Opela placed fourth in the long-go and eighth in the average. Also placing in the Team Roping was Sophomore Joe Dilks and freshman Cody Brown who finished ninth in the long-go and eleventh in the average. The Lancers will head to Colorado State University for their next rodeo.
