EWC Rodeo Team Have Success at Sheridan College Rodeo

The EWC rodeo team visited Sheridan College for their annual college rodeo.

Sophomores, Crystal Wortman of Highmore, SD and Chyann Howard of Laramie, WY had another fantastic weekend in their events. Wortman ended up fourth in the long-go and fourth in the average in the breakaway roping. Howard put together a nice run in the goat tying placing her fourth in the long-go.

Freshmen, Josie Davidson of Miles City, Montana ended up placing 6th in the long-go in the goat tying.

The women's team had enough points to put them in a fourth place finish with 103 points.

Sophomore, Wylie Johnson of North Platte, NE ended up in seventh place in the average in the saddle bronc riding and eighth in the average in the team roping.

Sophomore, Ty Kenner of Woodlake, NE placed second in the average in the Bareback Riding.

In the Bull Riding, freshmen Cody Sierks of Brewster, NE placed seventh in the average and 4th in the long go.

Sophomore, Dirk Leiseth of Wall, SD placed eighth in the average in the tie down roping and fifth in the team roping with brother Jack Leiseth, also of Wall SD.

Logan McDonald of Hemmingford, NE placed sixth in the average in the Steer Wrestling.

Jared Bilby of Bridgeport, NE won the average in the team roping with partner Brad Johnson of Gillette College.

"The women's team continues to gather points with the help of Crystal Wortman in the breakaway roping. We had several men place and are looking forward to moving back up in the standings," added EWC Rodeo Coach Jake Clark.

The EWC rodeo team will travel to Lamar and Cheyenne to finish out the fall rodeo season.
