Instructors from EWC attended State conference on Adult Basic Education

 EWC conference participants (as shown in the picture) are Diane Urairatana, ABE Asst. Director, Diana Quealy-Berg from Wyoming Youth Challenge, Kay Lively, Shirley DeMerritt, Susan McBride, Betty Reed, Sarah DeMerritt, Shirley Cain, Antonette Curren and Dr. Dee Ludwig, Dean of Instruction – Outreach & Lifelong LearningInstructors from Eastern Wyoming College recently attended a professional development State conference on Adult Basic Education in Wolf, Wyoming. 

Conference topics included the Hathaway Scholarship, Special Accommodations for the GED, Federal funding, reauthorization of AEFLA and new initiatives from the US Department of Education and College Student Mental Health: Issues and Responses. 

The Wyoming Community College Commission also awarded years of service awards to many EWC instructors; most notably to Sue Trautwein of Wheatland for 20 years as a GED examiner.
