June 5, 2006

TORRINGTON, WY - Kit Earl, EWC Math Instructor has been awarded a Doctorate of Arts degree in Mathematics from Idaho State University. Earl was awarded this degree in December.

Earl has taught Mathematics at EWC since 1985. Throughout the years, obtaining this higher degree became an important goal to Kit.

"You have to have persistence more than anything to get through a program like this," commented Earl. While working at EWC she was allowed a 2 year sabbatical leave to pursue her degree at Idaho State University. She then came back to teaching full time at EWC and completed remaining course work in the summers.

Completion of this degree is something that Earl is extremely proud of. "You're never too old to continue your education," stated Earl. "I'm 63 and if I can do it, you can do it!"
