New Employees Introduced to Eastern Wyoming College

TORRINGTON, WY - There are some new faces at the Eastern Wyoming College campus this fall. EWC is pleased to introduce 17 new employees.
The new Art Instructor is Karl Brake. Brake holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Utah State University, with emphasis in Drawing and Painting. He completed his undergraduate work at Boise State University with a BFA in Art, Magna Cum Laude, and an AA from College of Southern Idaho Community College.
Jared Pearce is the new English Instructor. Dr. Pearce holds a PhD in English from the University of Louisiana and a MA in English from Brigham Young University. For the last two years, he has been an Assistant Professor of English at Ball State University, Muncie, IN.
The new Biology Instructor is Verle Punke. Punke holds a BS degree from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia Kansas, and an MA in Biology from the University of Northern Iowa. Punke is a former Biology Instructor, and he has agreed to return to EWC to teach Biology for one year.
Dennis Misurell is the new Business Instructor at the Douglas Campus. Misurell holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. He comes to us from California, where he has been a Business Instructor for the University of Phoenix.
The new Recruiting Coordinator is Mell Cooper. Cooper has been the Admissions Counselor at Black Hills State, the Admissions Representative and Interim Admissions Director at Northwest College, and a Retention Supervisor for the Wyoming Army National Guard. He holds an Associates of Science from Casper College, as well as a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Wyoming.
Darci Duran is the new Web Page Instructional Support Technician. Duran is an LCCC and Art Institute of Colorado graduate. She had been working for the Star Herald as a copy editor and graphic designer.
The new Director of Community Connections is Dick Fullmer. Fullmer holds an AA degree from Goshen County Community College and a BA degree from the University of Wyoming. He has previously served as the Executive Director of the Goshen County Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Goshen County Victim Assistance Program, and was a Math Teacher at Lingle-Fort Laramie High School for thirty years.
Lori Moore is the new Payroll Manager. After graduating from Huntley High School, Moore attended Ozark Christian College, Sheridan College, and EWC. She was previously employed as a Wyoming Vocational Rehab Administrative Specialist.
Debbie Ochsner is the new Director of Counseling and Testing. Ochsner graduated from EWC, and then went to the University of Wyoming, where she earned Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Social Work degrees. Her previous employment has been with Peak Wellness Center, as a Counselor, Therapist, and Case manager.
Tracy Benson, James Goodro, and Jo Pierce are new custodians. Benson is a Torrington High School graduate who previously worked for Western Sugar. Goodro worked for the Goshen County School District Grounds Department after attending Torrington High School. And Pierce graduated from WNCC as an LPN, and is attending EWC as a Criminal Justice major.
The new Lead Custodian is Kevin Senteney. He was previously the Custodial Manager at the Goshen County Court House.
James Britton is the new Grounds Supervisor. Britton is a Crawford High School graduate. He has previously been a self-employed carpenter.
Gerri Haiman is a new cook for the EWC Cafeteria. Haiman holds a BA Degree from the University of Wyoming and is also a graduate of the Cooking School of the Rockies Chef Track. She has been catering special occasions.
Karen Posten has transferred from her position of Copy Center Clerk to the Secretary of the Counseling/Testing Center. Posten is a Gering High School Valedictorian and an EWC Cosmetology graduate. She has worked at EWC for the last nine years.
The new Copy Center Clerk is Patricia Velazquez. She comes to us from the University of Wyoming Outreach Office where she was employed as support staff. She has also been a bookkeeper, nurse, and a Board member of the Wyoming State Board of Nursing. She is a graduate of the WNCC School of Nursing.
