EWC Announces Changes Around Campus

August 24, 2005

TORRINGTON, WY - Eastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce all of the recent changes and improvements around the EWC campus. Many of the changes have come about as a result of student responses through various survey and focus groups conducted by the Student Support Services Committee, the Student Center Committee, and Student Services. These were completed to improve delivery of services to EWC students.

In the Coed Dormitory there are new drapes, beds, mattresses, and desk chairs. Upgrades have been made to the electrical, telephone, and cable hookups including installation of Internet service and also new kitchenettes in the suites.

The cafeteria has made changes to the salad bar and they have also posted new hours. Breakfast will be served from 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

The Student Center is now open on Sundays from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A dartboard will soon be installed and there is a new Smoothie/Frozen Drink/Flavored Coffee drink machine.

The Bookstore has been busy redoing the floor plan and rearranging the merchandise. They are currently in the process of displaying photos of their supplies and clothing merchandise on the EWC Website. This will enable web surfers to purchase items from the bookstore. The Bookstore has partnered up with MBS Direct and are focusing on students who will not be on campus but will be taking either an Internet or a compressed video class. This service will enable students to purchase their books on-line.

Renovations to the new welding classroom are proceeding. It is expected the renovations will be completed by October. These renovations and improvements were made possible by donors to the EWC Major Gifts Campaign.

Completion of the fire suppression system in Student Housing took place that was funded at all seven Wyoming community colleges by the Legislature.

Students will be walking through the doors to a new and improved EWC campus.
