Dr. Jim Rose and Jeff Rose were recently together at the EWC Commencement Ceremony.
(Torrington, WY)The late Rich and Gin Rose of Lingle had a long history with Eastern Wyoming College, and the desire to support EWC continues now with their two sons.

Rich served several terms on the EWC Board of Trustees during the years between 1963 and 1986, with five of those as President of the Board. He also served on the EWC Foundation for 20 years. During his tenure on the Board, the current EWC campus was created, and in subsequent years he was part of the development of the Activities Center and the Fine Arts Center. Long time friend of the Roses and President Emeritus of Eastern Wyoming College, Chuck Rogers, remembers Rich and Gin. "They were avid supporters of EWC whose unwavering and enthusiastic advocacy was a factor in the College's growth and development. These fine people raised three great kids in Jim, Margy and Jeff, and I consider myself fortunate to have been counted as one of their many friends."

The Rose family connection to Eastern Wyoming College is still evident in Rich and Gin's children. Jim, Margy and Jeff are all EWC alumni, and until Margy's recent move out of state, she was a member of the Eastern Wyoming Fine Arts Council. Jim and Jeff are still closely connected to the College.

In 1993, Jim was selected by the EWC Foundation to receive the 1993 Distinguished Alumni Award. After many years as a University professor at the University of Wyoming and as a campus administrator in Sonoma County California, Jim returned this year to his community college roots as the Executive Director of the Wyoming Community College Commission.

Like his father before him, Jeff, is the owner and operator of Rose Brothers, Inc. in Lingle. He served on the EWC Foundation Board for five years and is now an elected member of the Board of Trustees. In honor of his parents, Jeff recently approached the College and asked if it would be possible for Rose Brothers, Inc. to donate the funds to build the donor wall. As a result of his generous donation, EWC was able to build an exceptional donor wall in the main foyer of the Tebbet Building to honor those who contribute financially to the College, and at the same time dedicate it to two very special people.
