(Torrington, WY) The Alpha Omicron Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Eastern Wyoming College is participating in Project Graduation Feed a Body, Feed a Mind, an initiative to help alleviate hunger and illiteracy in our community. Graduating students and their guests are asked to bring non-perishable food items or books to the college graduation ceremony to be held on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 7:30 pm. Donations may also be dropped off at the steak fry before graduation. After the graduation ceremony, the books and canned goods will be given to Caring and Sharing of Goshen County and local schools.
"Such a simple gesture of bringing a canned good or book to our commencement will help improve the quality of life in our community," said Dr. Jack Bottenfield, President of Eastern Wyoming College. "We are excited to have this opportunity."
"As student leaders within our college, we are pleased to be at the helm of this new initiative," said Nick Roster, Advisor Phi Theta Kappa, "We are proud to give graduating students an opportunity to give back to the community that has supported them throughout their community college experience."
