EWC Employee Receives Award at Wyoming Community College Conference

EWC Employee Receives Award at Wyoming Community College Conference(Torrington, WY) Eastern Wyoming College would like to announce the recognition of Chuck Kenyon, EWC Computer Technician, who won the Classified Staff Award at the Wyoming Community College Conference held in Cheyenne, WY on February 7th. Kenyon was nominated by his peers for the Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees Awards. The nominations were for exemplary student, classified staff, professional staff, administrator, and faculty member. Nomination packets included examples of how the nominee has had a positive impact on their community college, leadership roles and involvement in the community.

Kenyon was not only recognized for his accomplishments at EWC but also his involvement in the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department.

Kenyon commented, "I was very surprised to have been nominated for the award by my co-workers at EWC, and very honored to be chosen by the Trustee's Association as the award winner."

Other Eastern Wyoming College nominees included Aharon Robertson, student; Aaron Bahmer, professional staff; Connie Woehl, administrator; and Rick Vonburg, faculty member.

Jack Bottenfield, EWC President comments, "As President of Eastern Wyoming College, I am very pleased that Chuck received the WACCT Classified Staff Award! First of all, and most important to me, Chuck is an honest, ethical, friendly, loyal, intelligent and caring person. He performs his role here at the college in a very capable, effective, and efficient manner at all times and in addition provides leadership too many diverse volunteer activities in the community. Since EWC is a community college we are very appreciative of Chuck's continuing contributions to the college and to the community."
