EWC Hosts Guests from India
September 30, 2004
(Torrington, WY) Eastern Wyoming College will be hosting eight guests from India October 22nd through the 25th. Four faculty members and four students from the Ram Rati Gupta Women's Polytechnic College in northern India will be in Torrington as part of a tour of Wyoming community colleges. Their trip is funded by the Vinod Gupta Charitable Foundation, which promotes higher education in India. The India college is modeled on the American community college system. While visiting EWC the faculty and students from India will be attending classes and participating in activities on campus and in the community.
Last November three Wyoming community college representatives, including Jan Lilletvedt and Dr. Ann Beaulieu from EWC, spent three weeks in India working with the Polytechnic faculty in developing curriculum and assessment standards. Now that a team of faculty and students will be coming to EWC from India, they are looking forward to sharing more about community college educational approaches. The Polytechnic faculty and students will also spend time at Laramie County Community College and Northwest College before returning to India.
