EWC Honored with Rodeo of the Year

(Torrington, WY) The Eastern Wyoming College Rodeo held in March was honored as "Rodeo of the Year" for the Central Rocky Mountain Region. This is the third time EWC has received this honor in five years.

Brent Zurcher from Torrington, WY, finished the year as the Regional Champion Team Roper. Kean Edwards from Wright, WY, was the Reserve Champion Calf Roper. Jacob Rinehart from Highmore, SD, finished in third place in the Steer Wrestling for the year. Jamie Tafoya from Jackson Hole, WY, ended the year as the Reserve Champion Barrel Racer and was honored as the Women's Rookie of the Year for the region. All four students will be competing at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, WY, 
June 13-19.

Brent Zurcher from Torrington, WY, finished the year as the Regional Champion Team Roper.

Jake Clark, EWC Rodeo Coach commented, "I thought the year ended well after a slow start. I was impressed with Brent Zurcher coming from behind to win a Regional Title. I feel all our qualifiers will have a great chance at a National Title."
