EWC Announces Technology Course for Summer

(Torrington, WY) Eastern Wyoming College will be offering Teaching with Microcomputers this summer. This course provides an introduction to effective utilization and integration of information technology with classroom instruction. Topics include: hardware, software, integrated applications, electronic grade books, Internet, world wide web, e-mail, educational media and evaluation, and educational issues regarding information technology. This course is a requirement for education programs and is often used by teachers who need re-certification hours.
The course is offered for either 1 or 3 credits. The 1 credit hour section covers using technology in the classroom including different software applications such as presentation software, and using the Internet. The 3 credit hour section includes all of the Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, and Outlook. Janet Martindale will be the instructor for this course. The class will start June 7th and run through June 18th on, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. There will also be a lab on the same days from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registrations are now being accepted until June 7 at the EWC records office.
