EWC Receives $100,000 Pledge to Major Gifts Campaign

November 18, 2003

(Torrington, WY) A Torrington family who wishes their gift to be anonymous has pledged $100,000 to support the expansion of the veterinary technology and welding programs, renovation of the co-ed dormitory and construction of a new dormitory. The pledge is part of EWC's major gifts campaign entitled, A Great Decision to Share in Our Region's Future.

When asked about their very generous contribution to Eastern Wyoming College, the family replied, "The young people of our community are the future of EWC, Goshen County and the great state of Wyoming. We hope this gift helps to enlighten minds."

The $100,000 pledge joins the first lead gifts received in the external campaign from First State Bank and Pinnacle Bank who each contributed $50,000. Earlier in the year EWC employees and board members in the Board Division raised over $182,000.

"As President of Eastern Wyoming College, I am grateful and appreciative of this wonderful contribution from a local family who is very supportive of EWC and of the community. It is, indeed, inspiring to see our friends step forward and support the College in the first major gifts campaign ever conducted at Eastern Wyoming College," said President Jack Bottenfield.
