EWC Kicks off Fall Rodeo Season at Chadron
October 8, 2003
(Torrington, WY) Eastern Wyoming College Rodeo began the fall season at the Chadron State College Rodeo with a fifth place finish for the men and a third place finish for the women. "The freshmen women seemed to make the transition to college rodeo smoothly. I look forward to a great year with them. The men?s team had a couple tough breaks in the final round to win the title. Overall, we did well, and several men earned points," stated Jake Clark, EWC Rodeo Coach.
Kyle Winslow of Oral, SD, placed fourth in calf roping. Drew Joseph of Ault, CO, earned third place in steer wrestling while Greg Weber of Martin, SD came out in fifth place in steer wrestling. For the women, Jamie Tafoya of Jackson, WY placed third in barrel racing with teammate Tyffani Hansen of Hawk Springs, right behind her in fourth place.
The Rodeo team will travel to Buffalo on October 10-12 to compete in the Sheridan College rodeo. For more information about the rodeo program at Eastern Wyoming College, please contact Jake Clark at 532.8337.
