EWC Spring Rodeo

March 28, 2003

(Torrington, WY) Eastern Wyoming College's spring rodeo season kicked off on March 22, 2003 after a winter storm set everything back a day. The men's team finished in 3rd place while the women?s team finished in 7th.

Boe Coleman was 2nd place in the first go of bareback riding. In calf roping, Kean Edwards was 1st in the first go round, and Zane Marty and Cole Tierney placed 3rd and 4th respectively in the average. In steer wrestling, Seth Brockman placed 4th in the top ten finals on Sunday.  Jerod Farella won 1st in the first go and placed 2nd in the average in team roping as Zane Marty placed 1st in the short round and finished 1st place in the average.

For the women, Chawnee Evans finished 3rd place in the average in barrel racing and Tavey Kreger was in 4th place in goat tying overall.

Coach Jake Clark said, Overall, I feel our team did well. We are very strong in the roping events. We had a lot of team members who hadn't placed before step up and do really well.

The next rodeo is April 4 and 5, 2003 at Colorado State University. Clark stated he is ?Looking forward to the next rodeo.
