EWC SkillsUSA Club Tours Caterpillar

(Torrington, WY December 3, 2002) The Eastern Wyoming College SkillsUSA Club
(Welding and Machine Tooling Division) sponsored by Russell Pontarolo, traveled to Casper on
Friday, November 22 to tour Wyoming Machinery. Wyoming Machinery supplies equipment for the mining industry of Wyoming and is a large dealer and service center for Caterpillar equipment. Students in attendance were: Macy Davis, Echo Skavdahl, Cam Huston, Ty Miller, Larry Gallant, Todd Wilson,
Scott Sims, JD Kearns, Samantha Thrasher, Todd Wiseman, Nate Smith, Tessa Kammerer, and Daniel Taussig.
The students were shown the new Casper Shop Facility which opened about a month ago. Within the shop, students were walked through a classroom area for ongoing employee training, a machine tear down and cleaning area, a welding area, a machine tooling area, a painting area, and a parts
warehouse.
Pontarolo said, The students enjoyed the tour and asked a lot of good questions. He pointed out that several previous EWC welders and machinists work
in the facility.
