EWC Receives Welder from Lincoln Electric

November 11, 2002

Donors & Recipients of Power Wave 455 Welder(Torrington, WY November 11, 2002) Welding students at EWC will be experiencing cutting edge technology thanks to a generous donation from Lincoln Electric Company. Lincoln has recently donated a Power Wave 455, a programmable, computerized welding machine. Leland Vetter, EWC welding instructor, was recently contacted by Steve Duren, Technical Sales Representative for Lincoln Electric Company, and asked if he could donate the welder to the EWC welding program. Duren worked with Development Director Lynnea Bartlett to make it a reality. EWC is the only college in Wyoming to have this machine and there are only a couple of colleges in Colorado with the same machine.

This machine will allow us to add pulsed welding technology to our curriculum, something we have never had before, Vetter replied about receiving the donation. The machine was just received this week and Duren was able to attend the 4th annual Technology Day to provide a demonstration of the set-up of the new welder. High school students attending Technology Day were able to see first hand this cutting edge technology.

This was Lincoln Electrics way of thanking the college for all of the past years business and support of their products. They made the following comment about the donation, Through your efforts of excellence in teaching and willingness to exhibit the latest technology, young minds leaving your institution are better prepared for the future. The above donation is our way of saying thank you for using Lincoln Electric Products.
