EWC Receives Datatel Grant

(Torrington, WY, September 20, 2002) Eastern Wyoming College was one of ten colleges to receive The Distributed Learning grant in the amount of $2,500 from the Datatel Scholars Foundation. Dee Ludwig, Associate Dean of Instruction, applied for the grant on behalf of EWC for curriculum development to create an on-line orientation course for distance learning students. The goal of the new class will be to help increase retention of distance learners by making them comfortable with the format and environment of taking classes via the internet and other distance learning modes. Eastern Wyoming College is working toward building more distance learning courses utilizing internet, television, and compressed video technologies to bolster the growing need of distance learners.
