EWC to Host Wyoming Lifelong Learning Association Annual Conference

(Torrington, WY, September 18, 2002) Region I of the Wyoming Lifelong Learning Association (WLLA) will be hosting the association?s Annual Conference in Torrington. The theme of this year?s conference, which will take place October 2-4 at Eastern Wyoming College, is Pathways and Trails to Success: Enhancing your Lifelong Learning Programs.

WLLA Region I includes the counties of Converse, Crook, Goshen, Niobrara, Platte, and Weston. There are a total of eight regions across the state.

The organization committee consists of WLLA board members Madelon Daniels, EWC ABE instructor, and Eva Titchener, EWC Lusk outreach coordinator, and Janet Bass, University of Wyoming academic coordinator, WLLA member and conference registrar. The committee is working hard to bring together those involved in Lifelong Learning from such diverse backgrounds as Public Schools, Community Colleges, Universities, State Departments of Education and Workforce Services, ABE-GED, Libraries, and many others.

Patricia McClurg, UW College of Education dean, will be one of the speakers at the conference as will Diana Enzi, 2002 President of the Congressional Club. Larry Armstrong, director of the Homesteader?s Museum, will give the welcome address.

    Community College District-Gillette Campus ABE Director
  • Go WYLD @ Your Library, Presenters: Marilyn Miller and Becky
    Lorenz, EWC librarians
  • Spirituality and Health: Educating Yourself on End-of-Life
    Issues, Presenter: Al Dahler, Community Hospital Chaplain and Special
    Touch Coordinator

A non profit organization, WLLA acts as a representative for lifelong learning, promotes the concept of community education, and assists and furthers vocational choices for people. Membership is open to all individuals with an interest in lifelong learning.
